Chopped clams and herbs scattered over a charred crust, Brewer's Fork

Brewer’s Fork (Boston) – The best pizza in Boston? For my last Boston review, I wanted to try a true New England style pizza. So I grabbed the Spicy Clam to go from Brewer’s Fork in Charlestown. New England is clam country, and I couldn’t pass up a pie topped with local clams (along with tomato sauce, pecorino, chili flakes, and gremolata). Bottom line: even as a pepperoni purist, I thought that clams made an excellent pizza topping - briny, salty, almost buttery depth that complements the richness of the cheese.

Clams aside, @brewers_fork turned out a textbook wood-fired pie. The crust showed char on the edges (the “cornicione”), with a nice crispy leopard-spotted undercarriage. Even out of the box it ate beautifully - flavorful and a bit smokey like a New England campfire. A regional classic, executed with precision. With this, @brewers_fork claims the top spot as my highest-rated Boston pizza.
