Rossville Pizza Company
Cincinnati · Hamilton · Neapolitan, Wood-fired · May 2025

We recently stopped by the soft-opening of @steelcitypizzaohio (the original location is in Middletown - the “Steel City” itself). The Hamilton outpost sits in the shadow of an old train bridge that evokes strong Roman aqueduct vibes - an atmospheric backdrop for a classically inspired pie.
As for the pizza, I was quite impressed by the near-flawless wood-fired pie. The style leans Neapolitan, though slightly (15%?) more substantial than you might see in Italia. The rim of the crust (the cornicione) had excellent oven spring - airy, with a crisp exterior and the added depth of leopard-spotted char. The interior remained tender, but the base was structured enough that a slice held its shape with minimal sag. The slow-rise dough had standout flavor even when eaten on its own - which, I often say, is the mark of a truly great pizza. Additionally, the sauce was bright and tomato-forward, with a raw-fresh profile and restrained salting that let the San Marzano (or close analog) speak for itself.
Based on this visit, I would rank Steel City Pizza up in the top tier of pizzerias in the Greater Cincinnati area. Bravo @steelcitypizzaohio!
