Mio’s Pizzeria

Italian for “My Own Pizzeria” Mio’s is a five location Cincy chain founded in 1975. They are know for their stuffed pizza (which I’ll cover in a future review) and overstuffed calzones, but here I had the “original crust” pizza. Their pepperoni pizza was a great example of what I’ve been terming #TurtlePizza (reminiscent of that pizza enjoyed by the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles - see @newportpizzaco, @northhighhydepark, & @ramundospizzeria for other examples). It had a flexible/floppy (not at all crisp) crust, with minimal char, and an extreme amount of cheese that seemed to overflow the slices. If you’re someone who doesn’t like when a pizza has “too much cheese” then you won’t like this one. But for most people, @miosclifton is a true winner.
