Some trivia night pizza in Cincinnati’s oldest neighborhood: Columbia-Tusculum (Sidenote: I love the early Cincinnatian tendency to evoke republican Rome). The East End’s @localpostcincy is an early 1900s post office that has been repurposed into what you might call a “Gastropub”. It’s the type of place where you can order a Three Floyds, some fried pickles, and a “NY style” pizza. Limiting my review to the later, we opted for a custom double pepperoni & fresh mozzarella (widely termed a “Joey Pepperoni”). Rather than on small dollops, this pizza was flooded with fresh mozzarella (no regrets there), accompanied by some flat-lying pepperoni …this combined for a quality cheese-pull (flip to the second pic to see). The flexible and chewy cornmeal covered crust was on the less well-done side: making this a classic Midwestern doughy cheesy pizza, the type made famous by the #TMNT. It’s a fine snack while brooding over trivia answers.
