Krispy Pizza

This pizza shop is known throughout the Tri-State area (but mostly Jersey & Brooklyn) for their particularly crisp crust, which results in a very audible crunch when cut. This quality has made Krispy a moderate reel sensation due to the resulting ASMR-adjacent pizza cutting videos. We recently visited their New Brunswick location, on campus at @rutgersu. There, we opted for a Nonna (grandma) slice and a Sicilian pesto slice. The mozzarella was plentiful here, whereas the artfully placed sauce was on the milder side. But the highlight, naturally, was the crust which was both airy and crisp …quite ‘Krispy’ indeed, with a hint of Krunch. I’m guessing they use high protein flour, a relatively high hydration percentage, and bake the pizza a bit longer to give it its signature crispiness. Perhaps a bit gimmicky, but @krispypizza is definitely a fine slice shop. Hit it up, after your next Scarlet Knights game.
