Como’s Restaurant

Founded in 1961 and then refounded in 2017, Como’s is a new wave Detroit style pizzeria in the shell of a old school Ferndale pizzeria (the decor matches this - it’s a sort of postmodern red sauce joint). All pizzas are cut into four, making every slice a corner slice at Como’s - a big plus given the flavorful caramelized crust. A monumental first here: we tried a gluten free Detroit style pizza (I usually ask for “extra gluten” which waiters unerringly find delightful). I was surprised how much I enjoyed this crust: while the gluten structure wasn’t as well-formed as the traditional pie (shown in later pics), it was made up for with extra caramelized cheese. It was a crunchy flavorful corner slice.
