ZZA Baby Pizza Bar

A Chicago pan pizza pizzeria, in the style of Pequod’s Pizza or Burt's Place (two of my all-time favorites), but located in Mercato, Naples. There’s a lot of mediocre non-Chicagoland Chicago style places with bland doughy crust. This is not one of them. ZZA’s crust is buttery and flakey / biscuit-like. The crust also features a generous allotting of Detroit-esque caramelized cheese on the outside, making it quite flavorful. It’s a bit thinner than usual for a Chicago-style pizza & (perhaps relatedly) the crust is a bit well-done with more than a little char (I could see some people from, say Nebraska, complaining about this). Overall, I thought this pizza worked quite well & its now one of my favorites in Southwest Florida.
