Ghost Kitchen

This is a milestone review. With it, I’ve officially reviewed all 40 pizzerias featured on @citiesbytheslice’s tasteful (and tasty) Cincinnati pizza poster!

Ghost Kitchen is a relatively new Covington pizzeria operating out of a converted garage on Lehmer Street. It’s a takeout and delivery operation, with no dining room. They advertise a limit of just 100 pizzas a day, a promising sign that they prioritize quality over volume.

I would describe what @theghostpizza is producing as essentially an elevated version of the classic American hand-tossed delivery pizza. Think of the kind of pizza you might order for a GameDey (Who Dey!), but with considerably more attention to the ingredients and execution. A sort of supercharged delivery pizza, made with house-made dough and sauce.

The pizza is screen-baked, producing a fairly uniform, sturdy crust with a nicely browned undercarriage and some attractive blistering around the edges. The dough is not particularly airy, but it has good structure. The pepperoni was generously applied, with plenty of curled and crisped edges, and the sauce and cheese worked well together.

Ghost Kitchen takes a familiar American pizza style and executes it at a higher level (a noble pursuit!).

Overall, a very flavorful pizza, and a satisfying way to complete the list.
