Fireside Pizza
Cincinnati · New York · Nov 2022

This Walnut Hills wood-fired pizzeria is built into an old Cincinnati firehouse designed by the great local architect Samuel Hannaford in 1869. @firesidepizzawh opened here in 2014 & I’ve been a number of times over the years, including when they were the still the pop-up ‘Fireside Pizza Wagon’ (scroll to the right for my 2011 pizza pic). While it’s a wood fired pizzeria using local “Ohio Oak”, Fireside’s pizza leans more towards a chewy New York style crust - Albeit a well-charred New York style (always a plus). We ordered a double pepperoni pizza w/ fresh mozzarella (often called the “Joey Pepperoni”). It was a quite flavorful pie - on the greasy side but grease is the privilege of the cured meat enthusiast. Accompanied by house board games, a library that includes titles such a as “The Audacity of Hops” and some @westsidebrewing, it was a delightful pizza experience.
